Royal Marine Captain Tom Jennings and Squadron Leader Anthony Downing of the RAF were fatally injured south of Kabul
Two British servicemen who died after the vehicle they were travelling in was caught in a blast in Afghanistan have been named by the Ministry of Defence.
Royal Marine Captain Tom Jennings and Squadron Leader Anthony Downing of the RAF were south of Kabul when they were fatally injured. Downing was flown home after the explosion last Thursday but died a day later. The 34-year-old, who was known as Ant, was an engineering officer.
It is understood that Jennings was serving with the special forces. A total of 393 British troops have died since the start of operations in Afghanistan in 2001.
