Letters: Let's stand together

The attack on helpless children in France is odious, horrific and heartbreaking (Report, 20 March). But this is not just an anti-Jewish, antisemitic crime. As the other shootings show, it is a hatred directed at anyone who is seen as different. We in Swansea stand together in our condemnation of this attack and in our efforts to make sure it never happens here, or anywhere else. Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, atheist, agnostic, black, white or brown, we are all human – and surely all appalled by these murders. Today is the UN Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This is the day for all of us to take action and challenge the racist attitudes in our midst, before they take root and result in atrocities such as those we have seen not only in France, but also in Norway, Afghanistan, and beyond. Never again. Let history not repeat itself.
