Machete-wielding intruder holds up Breyer, wife, and guests in West Indies; harms no one, but absconds with cash
According to a spokeswoman for the US supreme court, Justice Stephen Breyer was robbed last week at his vacation home in the West Indies by an intruder brandishing a machete.
Spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said Breyer, his wife, Joanna, and their guests were confronted by the robber around 9pm ET on Thursday, in the home the Breyers own on the Caribbean island of Nevis. No one was hurt, Arberg added, but the intruder did make away with about $1,000 in cash.
The robbery was reported to local authorities, Arberg said; however, she did not know if an arrest had yet been made in the case.
